Sneak Peek at a poem from my current project

Today I want to share a sneak peek at one of my current projects, focusing on poems and inspiration.  Hope you enjoy!

YOU ARE

You are Loved,

beyond measure,

beyond space and

beyond time.

You are Inspiring,

to so many people you see and meet,

you leave your mark in the shadow you leave.

You are Strength,

both inside and out,

never giving up and caring for those you are around.

You are Blessed,

beyond any shadow or doubt.

You are Kind,

through your actions and words.

You are Special,

unique and true,

never to compare to others you see,

for each person is different and destined to be who they should be.

You are Important,

more than you know,

you make a difference is big ways and small,

you are not meant to see the significance you leave,

your focus is only to be happy and the very best you can be.

You are Smart,

learning and growing with time,

seeing new perspectives and lessons when missteps arise,

making lemonade from lemons each and every time.

You are Everything,

to me and I’m here for you no matter day or night,

you mean the world to me my darling

I love you with all that I am, heart and soul by design.

The Casey Boys Adventures | Winter Shenanigans

by Lisa R. Crowe

I am so excited to announce that my fourth book in The Casey Boys Adventures will be launching in July!  While the exact date is still pending, it will be coming sometime in mid-month.

As you may have guessed by the title here, this new book has a little something to do with winter and Christmas.  Get ready to join Aiden and Grant as they enjoy some Winter Shenanigans, exploring all the wonderful things they can do in the winter season.

Once I have a formal launch date and we go live, I’ll check back with links direct to purchase.

Thank you to all who continue to support me on this fun journey!  I have so many projects in process, and fully admit my ‘shiny ball syndrome’ often gets the better of me, but I’m so proud to cross one more off the list and look forward to finishing up several more projects this year!

Inspire love and kindness

Today, there is an abundance of hate, turmoil and fear overtaking our culture.  As a mother, I worry for my children, just like all of you do for your child.  While I am not willing to discuss my personal views on politics or the various topics plaguing our society today, I would like to express a desire.

My desire is simple.  I wish for all of us to learn to practice and inspire love and kindness.  In my heart, I feel we’ve lost our way to show love of each other that is imperative to our society.  I worry that our children will no longer look at their peers or their elders the way we did and express respect for each other, their unique ideas and perspectives, and appreciation for their differences and contributions.

If we each try to incorporate practicing kindness and love in our day-day, it can become a trend that infiltrates our society with a positive impact.   I’m not an expert, and I can’t say exactly what happened along the way – maybe it’s the increasing speed of technology that has become a significant part of our lives, maybe from environmental changes, maybe from adjustments in how we parent – i just don’t know and there are certainly a wide variety of theories and thoughts on this I’ve read from many others.

Regardless of what the driver is that has brought us here, I still believe deep down, making the change to set the example and demonstrate this simple behavior in our own actions will help to inspire a change.  Stop to hold the door for the person behind you.  Smile as you pass others on the street.  Get off the bench and play with your child when you go to the park.  Take a walk with your family after dinner.  Thank the cashier for their help and wish them a nice day. Put your phone away and spend time in the evenings talking with your child and spouse about their day.

To make sure I clarify, I don’t mean for you to never allow time for yourself or that you should not view yourself as important – because you are.  But understanding and demonstrating importance for not only yourself but others as well is where love and respect can be fostered.  And hopefully, bring forward a positive change in how we interact with each other, inspire decisions that account for the well being of others and create strong bonds within our society.

Be the inspiration.  Set the example.  Eliminate the ‘what’s in it for me’ mentality from your day and instead change that to ‘what can I do to help others’ as an alternative.  Even if for some reason others choose not to follow your lead, at the end of the day you will feel happier and better about your choices by showcasing kindness and love in your own life.

The spirit of Christmas…

Holiday’s are full of stress, excitement, energy (good and bad), chaos, joy, love and the list goes on.  For some, this is the most perfect time of the year, filled with love and family.  For others, this is one of the most difficult times of year as they mourn loss or fight against their demons.

The season, no matter which end of the spectrum you sit on, I pray that everyone is able to find that sense of peace and embrace the moments that are good.  Joy in holiday’s can be found in a series of small moments, they don’t have to be the result of one big bang.  Sometimes, it’s more about the simple parts to help us find that spirit.

Saying hello to a stranger as you pass them on the street.

Telling the server at your favorite coffee shop ‘thank you, have a good day.’

Buying a coffee for the person behind you in line.

While cliché, for me the spirit of Christmas lies in giving to others.  That doesn’t mean just opening up the pocket book and letting it shake all about (because let’s be real, there wouldn’t be a whole lot shaking out even if I tried!).  But it can be little moments of giving that can bring a smile to someone else and pass on that positive moment to others, creating a domino affect.

So this holiday season, embrace the spirit and find your joy.  Give a smile, make someone laugh, don’t stress over that extra cookie and enjoy yourself.  The season is what you make it, regardless of the circumstances that may try to create barricades.  Instead of focusing on those roadblocks, find your way around them, take a new path and forge your own way with positivity, kindness, love and peace.  Because at the end of it all, aren’t those more important?  Remember that the crisis and frustration you are facing today will one day either get lost from your memory or seem so small in the grand scheme of things.

Have fun with your children, your spouse, family and friends.  Find that spirit and let it take you to your happy place, filling you with joy and love.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Giving thanks…..

We have swiftly approached that time of year where the spirit of thankfulness begins to take life.  As we prepare for our festivities with friends and family, the world around us offers a multitude of reminders to remember what is important in our life.  Family, friends,  blessings, integrity, spiritual, materialistic, the list can be never-ending as there is a variety of choices unique to each and every one of us that we can be thankful for.

With that spirit of thankfulness, I too have so much to be grateful for, more than I can possibly list without you all falling fast asleep.  Instead, I will simply say that I am thankful for all my family, my friends (those I see and those who are my virtual connections :)) and the bountiful adventures this year has brought.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
